MRI magnet monitoring, in plain language.

Device Halo shows your practice how its MRI magnet is doing and alerts the right people when a reading needs attention.

What it watches

A superconducting MRI magnet only works while it is extremely cold. These readings show how well it is being kept that way.

Helium level
Liquid helium keeps the magnet cold enough to work. A level that keeps falling is worth knowing about early.
Magnet pressure
The pressure of the helium inside the magnet. It should hold steady. A steady rise is a sign the cooling is not keeping up.
Cold head and shield temperatures
The cold head is the cooler that turns helium gas back into liquid. We believe a slow rise in these temperatures means it is cooling less well.
Compressor
The compressor drives the cold head. It should be on all day and all night, so you want to know when it is off.
Room temperature and humidity
The air at the site. Room conditions do not show a magnet problem directly, but we believe they can contribute to one.

How it works

  1. A monitoring unit is installed on the magnet

Once it is in place it reports on its own. Your staff do not need to touch the equipment.

  2. Readings arrive about every 10 minutes

Each one is stored, so you can see how a reading has changed over time.

  3. You see status, trends and plain explanations

Sign in on any phone or computer. Each reading says what it is, why it matters and what normal looks like.

  4. The right people are alerted

When a reading needs attention, Device Halo sends an email to the people who should know.

What you see

Each magnet has a status and its latest readings, shown against a reference range.

Who it is for

Imaging practices

Built for superconducting MRI magnets, the kind kept cold with liquid helium, starting with Siemens systems. Other makes are being added. Owners, managers and technologists can check the magnet without reading engineering data.

The people who service the magnets

Service engineers see the same readings and trends, so a conversation with the practice starts from the same facts.
